AC890 Ethernet and Modbus Cards
The launch of two new communications option cards by Parker SSD Drives for the AC890 modular systems drive and AC890PX high-power modular drive has the industry talking. The new Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP cards were designed to extend the functionality and performance of the AC890 range even further. These Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP cards also enable users to select from seven industry standard protocols, allowing the AC890 to be integrated into an even wider range of systems and networks.
The new Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP cards are compatible with AC890 firmware version 3.2 and later and are also easy to install, simply plugging into an option slot on the AC890 drive configured with DSE Lite software. Existing users should take advantage of the new communications options by upgrading their drives with the current firmware.
Advantages of Ethernet include its growing popularity on the factory floor, ease of networking, commercially available low-cost cable and connectors, and wide adoption by other automation product vendors. All of this gives users a wide choice of Ethernet-enabled products.
